Visa Application
Citizens of Cape Verde holding ordinary passports should all apply for a China visa in advance before entering China. All the visa applications should be submitted to the consular office of the Embassy. Diplomatic and official passport holders are exempted from visa application if their duration of stay is no more than 30 days.
Citizens of Cape Verde can stay in Hong Kong for 30 days and in Macau for 90 days visa-free.
To apply for a China visa, applicants are requested to fill in the application form online first. The basic requirements are as follows:
1. Completed and printed Visa Application Form;
2. Original passport valid for more than 6 months with blank visa page and copy of personal data page;
3. One recent passport photo (size 48mmx33mm) with light background.
4.Cape Verde Residence Permit or Visa (applicable to citizens of third countries in Cape Verde);
5. Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to citizens of Cape Verde those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained Cape Verde citizenship).

Brief Intro
Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Verde consists of eighteen islands which are all formed by volcanoes. It is about 500 kilometers off the westernmost coast of Denegal. With a tropical dry climate, the country has an annual average temperature of 24℃ (about 75℉), and the rainfall is 100-200 millimeters (about 3.9-7.9 inches), no more than 400 millimeters (about 15.7 inches) of a year at most. August to October is the rainy season basically without any rains at the rest time.

1. Visa types, entry and other relative policies are in line with common international practices. There are not special regulations on custom, exit and entry control, and no on-site visa too.
2. Vegetable and fruit are especially expensive in the country. Cars are the main means of transportation on islands. Taxis and buses also can be found among streets and lanes. There are airplanes and small motor ships among islands.
